EVERYONE NEEDS THIS BOOK

Review by Essie, 2010-07-27

Since everyone in the world is being affected by the negative information put out by the various medias, it is important to give people positive information. Because few people would make money advertising fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs, nuts, legumes and whole grains, there is not the same tantalizing ads, on TV and the other medias, that junk foods have. I bought this book because I always have been concerned with the health of my son and his family because of their unhealthy eating habits. This book has so much positive information in it. I sent the book to them yesterday. Hopefully, they will take advantage of the massive amount of healthy and informative information in it. it's been around for many years because it is such a good book. It's a classic.

An Excellent Herbal Reference

Review by Patrick Sadler, 2010-05-12

If you're into that sort of thing:-)
I'm into the health food movement like a lot of people nowdays. Unfortunately most books and programs don't cover all of the many ways to get and stay healthy. Although the above book listed is an excellent resource. It's like most authors and programs are trying to be too pc (politically correct). To correct myself a little, most health advice, programs, books and supplements usually offer pretty good advice these days. You know:
1. Don't alcohol
2. Don't abuse drugs
3. Don't smoke (cigaretts and the like)
4. Eat move live fresh fruits and vegetables.
5. Eat less process foods and meats.
Now all of this is good advice, although there is a right way and wrong way to do anything. I saw an excellent book with a good 8 step plan. Search Amazon for: The Magic Of Mother Nature's Healing Foods. I liked it.

Great reference book

Review by Des, 2010-05-06

The main reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because I only have read 3 books on the subject.

I bought it about 2 years ago, browsed thru it once then let it gather dust. I picked it up about a year ago and have probably referenced it 1 to 2 times a week, since. I guess I had to figure out how to use it. Or figure out that since it gives you all of the possible benefits/negatives of a particular herb, I could be much more precise in choosing the correct herb, staying away from a herb that might give me what I want, but also create another problem.

I also like that you can either start from the actual herb first to see what it helps, or start from a general condition that you want to improve on and find the herbs that fit or find a specific condition and the herbs that work for that.

Also, if you are into finding herbs in the wilde, which I'm not, I couldnt imagine a better book for you.

Best treat for my wife.

My wife has gotten interested in herb gareding and she keeps on saying how she would love a GREAT guide to herbs. Once I saw this book and read the reviews, I knew this would be the best book for her!
