Good for what it is

This is a helpful book and yes there are other books about essential oils that are just as worthy; however, when you do research you must have all types of sources and this is one of the sources that I choose to have. I do think it important to have a Physcians Desk Reference on Herbal Medicine as a companion to any holistic product. Even though some of the more sour reviews in this section whine about how the book is only advertisement for Young Living Essential Oils, it shouldn't be so easily discounted. If you don't like the book sell it used; I personally find it interesting and informative even though I will probably use my PDR to double check everything in it, as I do other similar books by other authors.

I was acutally so impressed with this book that I bought another for my mother and will consider purchasing more as gifts to people who are looking for an alternative approach to healing.

There are a number of oils that can be found through different companies, but my experience with YL essential oils is that they are the best, hands down. My recommendation is that the oils be purchased from their company as the tests completed were done on Dr. Young's products, not other companies.

The book is set up so that the reader can find an oil by name, ailment or blend. It is an easy book to read, simple to use and the benefit of the index allows for a number of options when looking for a specific condition or product.

I haven't surveyed the whole book as yet, but I know it is exactly what I want to study the good effects that Essential Oils can have. I have attended 2 workshops on Essential Oils and am eager to learn a lot more about their effectiveness on health. I want to make my selection of oils I would prefer to use and for that I have all the info in this book that I will need. Thank you.
