Caraway Essential Oil works as an expectorant and helps in treatment of bronchial asthma, bronchitis, sore throats, laryngitis and coughs. The botanical Name of Caraway Essential Oil is Carum carvi. This oil is extracted by steam distillation from seeds, pale yellow in color, has a light consistency, and strong aroma. Caraway essential oil has a sweet spicy scent with a slight peppery notes. Caraway is herb originated from Asia Minor. It grows up to 2 feet, has white/pink flowers, small brown fruit, and fern-like leaves. Now Caraway cultivated in Africa, Northern Europe, and Russia. Also known as Meadow Cumin, Caraway is a very old and well known spice, used as far back as the Stone Age. The Egyptians used it as food flavoring, the Romans in bread making and in the Middle Ages the Germans and Austrians in their cooking. Country of origin is France.
